Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.

Additional information:
A frontal system approaching from Washington will bring snow to Southwestern B.C. The snow began this morning and will intensify later in the day. Snowfall amounts may reach up to 10 cm for the Fraser Canyon, and 10-15 cm along stretches of the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Kamloops.

Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Road closures are possible.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Allow extra time for travel. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Prepare for possible disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities. Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.

When:
Midday Today until later tonight.

Where:
Communities along Highway 5 from McMurphy to Yellowhead Pass, and Kinbasket.

Additional information:
A frontal system approaching from Southern B.C will bring snow to the communities along Highway 5, which include Blue River, Valemount and Highway 16 from Tête Jaune Cache to the Alberta border. The snow, heavy at times, will begin midday Today, and continue into later this evening before easing on Christmas Day. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected by Christmas morning, with the higher amounts expected near the Blue River area and Mica Dam.

Visibility will likely be reduced at times.
