When: This morning.

Remarks:
A vigorous cold front will move across the BC interior this morning. In its wake, strong westerly wind gusts will develop over parts of these regions. These strong winds may lead to possible tree damages, local power outages and travel delays.

Winds will ease later this morning as the front tracks eastward.

Winter Storm Warning in effect for:
  • Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

What:
A combination of snowfall, strong winds, and blowing snow

When:
This morning

Where:
Okanagan Connector, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops

Additional information:
A cold front moving through the interior will continue to give snow to the Okanagan Connector and the Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops this morning. Approximately 10 to 15 cm has already fallen with a further 2 to 4 cm expected this morning before the snow eases.

As the front passes, winds are expected to pick up with gusts up to 90 km/h, which may lead to areas of blowing snow along the route.

Exercise caution when driving in crosswind prone areas.

Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Snowfall Warning in effect for:
  • Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt
Heavy snow continues.

When:

Where:
- Coquihalla Highway (Near Coquihalla Summit)
- Highway 3 (Near Allison Pass)

Additional information:
A frontal system will continue to give snow to Coquihalla summit and Allison Pass today. Approximately 30 cm has already fallen with an additional 10 to 15 cm expected today for the Coquihalla before the snow eases tonight.

Over Allison Pass, approximately 5 cm has already fallen with a further 5 to 10 cm expected before the snow eases this morning.

In addition, wind gusts are expected to pick up this morning, with gusts ranging up to 70 km/h which could lead to local blowing snow along the routes.

Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times.

Where: Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.

What: Snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm along with near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Additional information:
Snow will continue this morning as a frontal system moves through the interior. Approximately 15 cm has already fallen with a further 5 to 10 cm expected this morning before the snow tapers to flurries. Additionally, westerly winds gusting up to 80 km/h will result in near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.
