Snowfall Warning in effect for:- Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt
A long period of heavy snowfall is expected.
When:
Beginning this afternoon followed by a brief respite overnight, and then a series of low will bring rounds of precipitation on Friday and Saturday.

- Coquihalla Highway (Near Coquihalla Summit)

As a frontal system approaches the B.C. coast, we expect to see 10 - 20 cm of snowfall accumulation for the Coquihalla Highway today. Heaviest snowfall will occur in the afternoon and evening hours. Strong wind gusts of up to 80 km/h and heavy snowfall could lead to blowing snow conditions this evening.
A series of low pressure systems will then make its way through the B.C. interior on Friday and Saturday. The Coquihalla summit will receive another 15 -25 cm on Friday and possible accumulation of 20-30 cm on Saturday. There is some uncertainty on the snowfall accumulation into the weekend.
Travel will likely be challenging. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Road closures are possible.
