Snowfall Warning in effect for:- Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass
Snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.
What:: Snowfall accumulations of 20-30 cm.
When: Tonight and Wednesday.
Where: Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, Yoho Park - Kootenay Park.
Additional information: An intense Pacific frontal system moving across the interior will give snow to the Columbias. Light snow will start this evening and intensify overnight. The snow is expected to continue near the summit through Wednesday night. As snow levels rise, Highway 1 will see snow changing to rain late Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 20 to 30 cm can be expected near the summit by Wednesday evening.
Roads and walkways may be very difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be reduced at times.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
