Snowfall Warning in effect for:- Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt
A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 30 to 40 cm is expected.
When:
Beginning Thursday afternoon followed by a brief respite overnight Thursday and another round of precipitation on Friday.
Where:
- Coquihalla Highway (Near Coquihalla Summit)

As another frontal system approaches the B.C. coast, we expect to see 10 - 20 cm of snowfall accumulation for the Coquihalla Highway on Thursday. Heaviest snowfall will occur in the afternoon and evening hours.
A low pressure system then makes its way through the B.C. interior on Friday. In the wake of this low pressure system, the airmass becomes unstable and the Coquihalla will receive another 10 -20 cm on Friday. This snowfall accumulation will be highly variable due to the convective nature of the atmosphere. Total snowfall accumulations will be adjusted as Friday draws near.
Travel will likely be challenging. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Road closures are possible.
