Snowfall Warning in effect for:- Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt
A long period of heavy snowfall continues.
What:
Tonight: 10 to 20 cm
Saturday: 10 to 20 cm
Sunday: 5 to 15 cm
When:
A series of low pressure systems will bring rounds of precipitation lasting until early next week.
Where:
- Coquihalla Highway (Near Coquihalla Summit)
Additional information:
A series of low pressure systems will move through the B.C. Interior over the next few days. The Coquihalla Summit has received 20 cm of snow today, with another 10 to 20 cm expected tonight. An additional 10 to 20 cm is forecast for Saturday, followed by a possible 5 to 15 cm on Sunday. There is potential for additional snowfall on Monday and Tuesday; however, accumulation remains uncertain. Windy conditions are also expected, with periods of reduced visibility.
Travel will likely be challenging. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Road closures are possible.
