Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

A combination of snowfall, strong winds, and blowing snow

Okanagan Connector, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops

Additional information:
A vigorous front is set to move through the Interior BC tonight, which will bring snow, winds and local blowing snow for the Okanagan Connector (Mainly near Pennask Summit) and the Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops. Snowfall totals tonight are expected to be 15 - 20 cm, and as the front passes through, winds are expected to pick up, with gusts possibly up to 90 km/h. This will lead to areas of blowing snow along the route, and overall messy driving conditions.

Exercise caution when driving in crosswind prone areas.

Travel will likely be challenging. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.

Snowfall Warning in effect for:

• Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt

A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 25 to 35 cm is expected.

When:
Snow continuing tonight and tapering off Wednesday evening

Where:
- Coquihalla Highway (Near Coquihalla Summit)
- Highway 3 (Near Allison Pass)

Additional information:
Another frontal system combined with slightly lower snow levels is bringing snow to the Coquihalla summit and Allison Pass which will taper off Wednesday evening. Snowfall totals tonight are expected to range from 15-25 cm with an additional 10-15 cm likely on Wednesday for the Coquihalla. Snow may be at times mixed with rain this evening as the snow levels sit near 1100 metres. Areas south of the Coquihalla summit are expected to see rain, with totals ranging 40-50 mm. In addition, wind gusts are expected to pick up overnight, with gusts ranging up to 70 km/h which could lead to local blowing snow along the routes.

Travel will likely be challenging. Road closures are possible.

• Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

When: This afternoon into Wednesday morning.

Where: Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.

What: Snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm along with near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Additional information:
An intense Pacific frontal system is approaching the southern Interior. Light snow from the system has started this afternoon and will intensify tonight. The snow will continue into Wednesday morning with total accumulations up to 30 cm expected. Meanwhile, when the front passes through the region overnight and Wednesday morning, westerly gusting winds up to 80 km/h will result in near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Travel may be hazardous. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.
